Watford Ladies 6-0 MK Dons Ladies
The Golden Girls defeat MK Dons Ladies in Friendly...
WATFORD Ladies convincingly won their friendly against Milton Keynes Ladies on Sunday morning (March 19), at the Harefield academy.
The Golden Girls took the lead with their first shot of the game. A neat one-two saw the ball clipped through to captain Anneka Nuttall who volleyed into the bottom corner with the outside of her foot.
The lead was nearly doubled when Charlotte Kerr thundered a shot against the crossbar, and the trialist was just unable to score on the rebound.
England Under-19 international, Rinsola Babajide, darted down the right and squared the ball across the area for Kerr to tap in and double the lead.
The Trialist had a powerful strike from outside the box hit the post as the Keith Boanas' girls dominated proceedings.
Babajide turned the defender and burst into the box, nudging the ball around the advancing keeper to put her side three goals ahead going into the half-time break.
The Hornets started the second half brightly. Adekite Fatuga-Dada, who nearly scored with a back heel moments earlier, got onto the scoresheet with a tidy finish into the bottom corner.
Watford made it five just a minute later as Babajide lobbed the keeper, after she had been played through one-on-one.
Milton Keynes nearly grabbed one back but former-England goalkeeper Jo Fletcher did well to tip a testing shot wide.
The trialist made it six for Watford as she got onto the end of a lovely lobbed pass by Kerr at the far-post, to seal a convincing victory for Keith Boanas’ side.
