Girls Academy Impress

New Academy make promising start to life in opening friendlies...

THE WATFORD FC Girls Academy made an impressive start to their pre-season campaign with both encoring performances and results against established teams in the area.

After many months of hard work, the first pre-season friendlies involving the new academy took place on Saturday morning (02 September).

The Under-9s and Under-10s recorded victories over Pro Direct Academy, with 17 goals scored, and 9 conceded. The Under-14 girls were defeated 3-1 by the Pro Direct Under-15 side, in what was a competent display by the Hornets.

The Under-12s were involved too, and were in action against Denham, who they recorded a 5-2 win over as they look to hit the ground running this season.

It proved to be a great weekend all round by the girls and their coaches, who start their first set of competitive league games this weekend.

The Watford FC Girls Academy is the only official link to Watford FC Ladies, and the club wishes them the best of luck this weekend as they begin their league campaigns.

Requests for trials should be made by sending an email to trials@watfordfcgirlsacademy.com - the Academy are seeking talented and committed Under-16 girls.
