Coaching vacancies available at Watford FC Girls Academy...

The Watford FC Girls Academy has exciting opportunities for a minimum Level 2 FA qualified coaches to work as a Head Coach.

The Academy is a stand-alone club which runs under the guidance of Watford FC Ladies and Watford FC.

Working closely with the first team, other coaching staff, performance support staff and medical team, the candidate will be committed to player progression, and developing players capable of representing Watford FC Ladies at Development and First Team level in the future.

The post holder will also have responsibility for selecting and managing their allocated team on a match day, including administrative and logistical tasks.

The candidate must be an ambassador for the club and the women’s game, and must be committed to further enhancing the reputation of women's football at the club.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work closely and collaboratively with the Academy, other coaching, and performance support staff.
  • To work within the coaching philosophy of the club.
  • To plan and deliver a programme of weekly training sessions of appropriate content and standard.
  • To manage, organise and regularly communicate with players and parents to ensure the smooth running of all team operations.
  • To manage the team on a match day.
  • To manage and support the development of individual players in the squad. 
  • To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect to any information relating to Watford FC Ladies, and the Watford FC Girls Academy, and its operation.
  • MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Education/Qualifications/Training:

    Essential: minimum FA Level 2 Coaching award, current FA Safeguarding Children certificate, current FA Emergency First Aid certificate, membership of the FA Licensed Coaches Club, record of coaching high level players.

    Preferred: FA Youth Modules 1, 2 and 3

    Abilities/Skills/Knowledge: 

  • Possess a passion for the women’s game, and the drive to work tirelessly for the Club towards its continued improvement.
  • Be a dynamic, confident communicator, with strong people management skills.
  • Have a conscientious approach to all areas of work.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach with a proven commitment to teamwork.
  • Display an acute attention to detail and possess excellent organisational skills.
  • Possess a good level of numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Display good computer skills.
  • Have the ability to produce high quality written and verbal reports.
  • Possess a Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Be prepared to undergo an enhanced FA DBS check.

    This is a casual role on a casual agreement. The Academy train Mondays and Thursdays 5:00pm-6:30pm at Harefield Academy, and the successful candidate will be expected to attend home and away fixtures on Saturday mornings.

    Watford FC Girls Academy is a stand alone academy set-up, linked with Watford FC and Watford FC Ladies. The academy is the only official link to Watford FC Ladies.
