Babajide & Kitching Called Up
England Under-20 call-up for Watford pair...
WATFORD FC LADIES duo Fran Kitching and Rinsola Babajide have been called up to an England Under-20 training camp to be held at St Georges Park this weekend.
Babajide, who represented the three lions over the summer in the Under-19 Euros, continues to impress for the Hornets where she has been a regular starter for Keith Boanas’ side in pre-season. The speedy winger has been touted as one of the key players to look out for this WSL2 season, having joined the Hornets ahead of the recent Spring Series.
Goalkeeper Kitching, on loan from Chelsea for the season, has received her first call-up for England at this level. She has represented both the Three Lions and Scotland at training camps in the past, but is yet to make her international debut.
The shot-stopper is enjoying life with the Hornets as the new season draws ever closer, and is looking to make the number one spot her own, as she battles it out with former-England keeper Jo Fletcher.
“I’ve settled in really well, all the girls have been welcoming and friendly, and I think I’ve gelled into the team fairly quickly which is always good,” she said, speaking exclusively to watford.fawsl.com.
“I feel like we’re on track for the start of the season, and obviously with the new signings as well we’re all still getting used to how each other plays. We’ve had strong performances though in pre-season, and playing against some of the best teams and players in the country has been good for me.
“We’re hoping to finish in the top half of the table, we’re an upcoming team with young players and greatly experienced players now too. Hopefully those aspects mixed together – along with our hard work, determination and togetherness – will mean we can achieve something great this season.”
Season tickets are now on sale, and supporters can benefit from a number of discounts in the local area. All the information can be found by clicking here!
