Match Preview: Doncaster Rovers Belles v Watford
Hornets taking on the league leaders Saturday evening.
Watford Ladies are back in WSL 2 action this evening as the Golden Girls travel to South Yorkshire to take on Doncaster Rovers Belles.
The Belles are currently three points clear at the top of the table having won nine and drawn two of their 11 games so far.
For Watford it’s been a frustrating few weeks, with several postponements meaning only five matches have been played in 2018.
The two sides met back towards the beginning of the calendar year on January 7th at Kings Langley. It was a close encounter which was won by the visitors 2-0.
Leandra Little opened the scoring early on with a header while Watford were momentarily down to ten players due to an injury. The lead was then doubled just before the break as Jess Sigsworth pounced on a rebound.
It was a fixture that saw Rebecca McShane and Samantha Hallsworth both make their debuts, the latter being named player of the match.

The Hornets earned their second point of the Spring Series with an impressive display. It was a performance that helped kick start the season, with back-to-back victories in the following two games.
It looked like the game would be goalless at the break but Belles’ Courtney Sweetman-Kirk was in the right place after Kirsty Hanson couldn’t get enough on her shot.
The game was level again early in the second half as Leah Cudone got her first league goal for the club, a strike that earned her side a point.
